Year 5

Spring Home Learning 2021

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to school Year 5 and welcome to the Year 5 Home Learning page for the Spring Term.

On this page you will find lessons to complete during this lockdown period. All of the lessons will have a heading to show on which day that work needs to be completed.  Each day, children will have Maths, Reading, Spellings, Writing and Topic lessons to be completed.  If you are in Mrs Phillips' group, your Maths and Literacy will be set by Mrs Phillips and your afternoon lessons will be set by Mr Marshall and Mr Ricketts.

Most of the lessons have online resources provided through videos that you can access for free. We are expecting the children to complete the work in their home learning journals, so there is no need to print off sheets.  We have attached copies of worksheets here to look at and you can access these from home or you can collect a printed pack from school - see Mrs Lillie. It must be noted that some of the worksheets can be found on the PowerPoints.

We are also going to be using Spelling Shed https://www.spellingshed.com/en-gb/ and Times Tables Rockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ every week. The Year 5 team will ensure that there is updated task every week. Let the return of  5M vs 5R begin!

Parents/guardians can also use Marvellous Me to receive important updates regarding school and your child's learning. The more high fives we can get the better.

You can now upload your work for the Year 5 staff to check and give you feedback, using Seesaw.  This can be done by accessing the Seesaw website or downloading the app.  See the instructions below, for more details.

We understand that this is a difficult time for all and it is important that we work together to ensure all the work set is completed to the highest standard to support the children's learning.

We hope to see you all very soon, and make sure you all stay safe.

 Mr Marshall and Mr Ricketts
