SPORTS PREMIUM 2021-2022
SPORTS PREMIUM 2020-2021
During the academic year 2020-2021 316 pupils were eligible for sports premium funding. The total amount payable to school was £19,210. The money was spent on:
- Providing equipment for team sports/physical activity that could be used in the reduced play areas.
- Additional PE kit for those families who could not afford it.
- Upgrade of gym equipment and outdoor sports facilities to meet the requirement of the PE curriculum.
National Curriculum Requirements for Swimming 2020-2021:
- Children in years 4-6 go swimming for one term each year at Kingstanding Leisure Centre. Due to Covid-19 we were unable to assess how many Year 6 children were able to meet the National Curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self rescue in different water based situations.
- Swimming lessons started again in September 2021
SPORTS PREMIUM 2019-2020
During this academic year, 324 pupils were eligible for sports premium funding. The total amount payable to school was £19,460. Over the year the money was spent on:
- Embedding physical activity into the school day through large climbing apparatus on the playground.
- Engaging all pupils in regular physical activity.
- Giving pupils the opportunity to take part in sporting activities that they would otherwise be unable to experience.
- Ensuring sporting activities are delivered by a qualified and experienced professional sports coach who is able to develop pupil’s skills.
- Ensuring pupils have opportunity to take part in sporting competitions with pupils from other settings.
SPORTS PREMIUM 2018-2019
During the academic year 2018 – 2019, 345 pupils were eligible for sports premium funding. The total amount payable to school was £19,450. Over the year the money was spent on:
- Providing pupils with high quality teaching from a specialist PE coach.
- Providing pupils with the opportunity to take part in sporting activities that they would otherwise be unable to experience.
- Providing pupils with the opportunity to take part in sporting competitions with pupils from other settings.
- Providing pupils with the opportunity to take on leadership or volunteer roles that support sport & physical activity within school.
- Training lunch time supervisors to lead physical activities at lunchtimes.
