At Kingsthorne each child is giving opportunities to interact in positive relationships and develop through our stimulating child-led learning environment.

In EYFS skilled practioners observe, and then extend children’s learning while they pursue self directed activities. It is via this process that we enable our pupils to reach individual goals.

We work this way because children are more involved when they have chosen the activity themselves. The brain is at its most active in a learner during child initiated play.

We have adult led group times for– Phonics, Mathematics, WellComm (Speech and Language) and Creative. There is a theme for each half term where it is a combination of planned learning opportunities and child-led interest.

Children attain the Early Learning Goals in each area of the curriculum by the end of reception, enabling them to fully access their learning as they enter Key Stage One.
